Today, we are introducing parking enforcement notifications, a text service that notifies the movement of enforcement vehicles to mobile phones in case you have illegally parked or stopped on the streets. By giving notices beforehand, the service aims to establish reliable administrative capacity and resolve citizens’ inconvenience.
The English service is yet to be adopted, which means that you will need to translate the Korean text messages you will receive. If you want to receive the notifications, you can apply by following the steps below.
First, access Pyeongtaek City’s official parking enforcement notification service website at https://parkingsms.pyeongtaek.go.kr, and click the purple semi-circle on the right (purple section).
Next, it will ask for your consent to provide personal information. The service will store the personal information provided from the date of subscription to cancellation. To receive text notifications, this consent is required. The circle on the left says “agree,” and the one on the right says “disagree.” Check all three circles on the left. Then, click the purple button at the bottom. (in Korean, it says “I agree.”)
Once you submit your information, you will receive a verification code on your phone. Enter the verification code in the box and click the purple button below (in Korean, it says “verify.” Once you’re verified, the last step is final registration. Make sure your license plate number is correct, then click the purple button below (in Korean, it says “confirm.”.
This completes the registration process for the text notification service! When your vehicle is found to be illegally parked or stopped within Pyeongtaek City’s CCTV enforcement area, you will receive a text message. Your vehicle must be immediately removed. Don’t forget!
Regardless of whether or not you have applied for the text service, the vehicles that are ticketed for violations must pay a fine.
