Discard Clear PET Bottles Separately Starting December 25th

Recycling rules are very strict in Korea. Different types of wastes must be separated accordingly. Various types of trash, such as cans, and food wastes are all thrown away in separate bins. One more thing! Starting December 25th, clear PET bottles must be discarded separately.

When clear and colored PET bottles are mixed, it is difficult to produce high-quality recycled products. It requires importing high-quality recyclable materials from abroad, which incurs more cost and excessive use of materials. To minimize this inefficiency, clear PET bottles will be discarded separately starting December 25th.

Before discarding these, empty the contents, rinse them, remove the label on the bottle, and crush them to minimize the volume. The lid can be attached tightly to the bottle. At apartments, instead of the big bin where all plastics were dumped altogether, a separate collection bin for clear PET bottles will be installed.

At detached apartments, residents will need to discard clear PET bottles in designated trash bags.

They are recycled into sheets, reproduced as bottles, and long fibers for producing fabric and medical products. Let's recycle properly to help protect the Earth!
