How Koreans Keep Warm in the Winter

In preparation of cold winters, there are several items you may want to get to keep you warm. Here are some must-haves that Koreans love to use in the winter.

When your hands and feet are cold, try using instant hot packs. You can carry them inside your pockets or even stick them on your clothes to keep you warm. Because you have to throw away the single-use hot packs, rechargeable ones are becoming popular for you can use them for a longer period of time. To use the rechargeable hot pack, press the button and hold it. Press the button lightly, from 1 to 3 times, to change the temperature (warm to hot); note that the red lights are indicators of how hot it is. Some rechargeable hot packs can also be used as portable chargers. These are small and very handy to carry around.

The next item is an electric blanket, a recommendation for those who get cold easily. There are small-sized ones that cover your thighs and knees. Plug in the usb cable to heat it up. These can be powered by portable chargers, usb wall plugs, or computers. People love to use these blankets when they go camping, work in a cold office, or study in the library. You can also find the ones with a separate cover that can be washed.

Another beloved item is a mini fan heater. It's small enough to put on the desk, which is great for offices and libraries. It blows warm air out of a mini fan. It can be powered by an electric outlet or a USB cable.

You will also notice many Koreans wearing long padded parkas. It became fashionable a few years ago to cover the whole body and keep warm in the winter. Check out these items to keep yourself warm in the freezing weather!
