Gyeonggi-do Province and Chungcheongnam-do Province have recently agreed to join forces in building the ‘Pyeongtaek-Asan-Cheonan Circular Railway.’
They will also collaborate in planning to connect the southern Gyeonggi-do Province regions of Pyeongtaek, Anseong, and Hwaseong with the Chungcheongnam-do Province’s northern areas of Cheonan, Asan, and Dangjin, to create a mega city and lead in the nation’s fourth largest industry area.
Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon and Chungnam Province Governor Kim Tae-heum signed a ‘Gyeonggi-Chungcheongnam-do Mutual Development Cooperation Agreement’ at the Chungnam Provincial Office on September 29th.
The agreement includes the Pyeongtaek-Asan-Cheonan Circular Railway, construction of cutting-edge industrial belts in Gyeonggi & Chungcheongnam-do, improvement of Pyeongtaek-Dangjin Port logistics environments & export advancement, the collaboration of Gyeonggi-Chungcheongnam-do tourism resources, a collaboration of U.S. military bases and the collaboration of marine and leisure industries.
Gyeonggi-do Province and Chungcheongnam-do Province also plan to strengthen their partnerships with the central government, metropolitan local governments, and private companies in the future to increase their momentum.
